U.S. foreclosure activity rose again in the first half of 2026, with 227,548 properties receiving filings, up 21% from the same period in 2025, according to ATTOM’s midyear foreclosure report.

U.S. foreclosure activity continued its gradual annual rise in May 2026 even as filings declined from April, according to ATTOM’s latest Foreclosure Market Report.

ICE’s April 2026 First Look shows April delinquencies held at 3.35% of all loans and serious delinquencies rose to 577,000.

Delaware recorded the highest foreclosure rate at one filing for every 1,739 housing units. South Carolina was No. 2 with one in every 1,745.
